So I am a silent peepster too...

I was checking all the blog links on my blog to see what my friends are up to. While looking at Emily Olsen's - Punks (see to the left). I stumbled across this gem.
Kristen Case

Kristen is explain the woes of having a toddler who is trying to change her own poopy diaper during nap time. I was rolling on the floor in sympathetic amusement. So, for all y'all other peepster's, I highly recommend you check out the Case family.

In a comment on Emily's blog, Kristen tells how her son Nathan (4) sneaked a pair of purple princess dress shoes into church and changed into them during sacrament meeting.

I like this woman, she has a sense of humor and it sounds like she needs one.

A totally different game of tag...

Here is a totally different game of tag.

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew us a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

I suppose this is a risky kind of tag. You might get lots of nice comments, or you might get nasty comments, or worst of all, you might get no comments.

I suppose I will have to wait and see.

I know I am more than a little quirky!

So my friend Andrea tagged me for this little project in self-examination. After reading her hilarious posting and comments, I couldn't help but participate. I still owe her a nice comment from a previous posting, but I have been busy with my own blogging.

Let's see, so the rules are:

1. Link the person who tagged you - Andrea
2. Post these rules.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 fellow bloggers by linking them

Here goes...

1) Roaches make me itch. I can't stand those big pine tree flying roaches, even the though of one makes my nose begin to itch like crazy. Spiders, worms, snakes I can handle, but not roaches. Yuck!!!!!

2) I hate sticky little hands. I love the little bodies attached to the hands but I hate to be touched by sticky hands. I hate to get my clothes all stained up, probably because I have to do all the laundry and clothes shopping. I bite my lip and don't say anything because I don't want to hurt anyone feelings, but I hate to be sticky.

3) I hate to get my hands dusty, like from chalk or pulling potatoes. I don't mind being wet or muddy, but I hate to be dusty. I have to wash my hands to get the feeling off. I know, it is really weird.

4) I hate to hear or see any recordings of myself. I can't stand the sound of my own voice outside of my head. I just think I sound bad and always feel like I am doing something idiotic. I don't mind being recorded, I just won't watch or listen to it. So much for my career on the big screen.

5) Is this a quirk, I like to eat scrambled eggs and black eyed peas with ketchup. Yum! I suppose I should also mention that I love food, it is my therapy. When I am down I eat. Thanks to my Dad, I always have to have something sweet after dinner, it just isn't right without dessert.

6) I can't go on vacation unless all the clothes are washed, the dishes are clean, the trash is empty and the house is tidy, even for one night away from home. I hate it, I don't want to come back to a dirty house. I don't feel this way when I am at home, just when I am leaving. I can't pack until all the clothes are washed. That is why it takes me two days to pack.

So there you have it, 6 quirks. I am sure y'all can suggest about 60 more.

I will tag Susan F , Erin, Melissa and Meredith.

I know that is only 4 but everyone else has been tagged, clearly some more of my friends and family need to start blogging! :)

Here we all are!

Yesterday, all of Jason's immediate family got together to take a long over due family portrait. So here we all are...

On the top row:

Chris, April, Ashlynn, me, Owen, Jason and Matt

On the bottom row:

Kylee, Francis, Teena, Peyton, Ross, Alan, Ella, Angela and Noah

All the kids with their great-grandmother.

All the kids with Mamaw and Papaw

Such a cute picture of all the grandchildren, look how good Owen is being, it was a miracle, because only a few minutes earlier, he had a total meltdown.

My family, no one told me I had puffy hair.

Jason insisted on a picture of me, who knows why... and could my teeth be any bigger! I hate having my picture taken!

Angela's family

Chris' family

The original Mamaw with all the original grandchildren.

Mom and Dad

Still cute after 38 years!

EYE Camp

After the Fourth of July weekend, Ross went to EYE day camp. EYE stands for Engaging Youth in Engineering.

It was put on by a bunch of wonderful teachers, including Mrs. Bridges and Mrs. Vincent from E.R. Dickson and done in partnership with the Exploreum and other businesses in Mobile.

Ross got to go to the Water Treatment Plant, the Five Rivers Delta Park and the Exploreum. They studied all about water, the water cycle, water pollution, water treatment and water habitats. He loved it.

I hope he can go again next summer.

On the last day of EYE camp, the parents were invited to join their campers for a presentation at the Exploreum. After that we could all see the Frog exhibit and play in the hands-on-science lab.
Here are some frogs we saw:

This one is called Toadzilla, it is hard to tell the scale but he is bigger than a man's fist.

Bubble, bubble, boil and trouble - we all know who is trouble! :)

I really liked the blue ones!

Owen enjoyed Toddler Bayou, with all the fake water and the big boat.

Hummm... what strange fish!

We had a great time and Ross learned so much! Yeah EYE and thank you!

Weezy's Christening

On July 5th, my niece Weezy was christened at Our Lady of Bon Secour (that is deep deep in the middle of Baldwin County near Gulf Shores).

Jason, the kids and I got all dressed up, picked up our cousin Beth and headed across the bay. Thanks to Google Map, we found the place right away and then we waited, because my sister is always right on time or slightly not on time, but never early.

Danielle arrived right behind us, so we all waited together, but not for long. Herkerma and company came right on time, I was very proud.

While we waited I had time to take pictures of the beautiful little chapel and my family.

Jason said he didn't want his picture taken cause he was grumpy and I would tell everyone about it in my blog. So, I took the picture anyway.

Here he is, Mr. Grumpypants!

Danielle

Beth and Ross

Of course, Owen.
The christening was very nice. Larry's parents are Wezzy's godmother and godfather.
Larry's sister was there with her husband, and their three girls. My sister's Aunt came with her husband and two sons. And some friends of Larry's came too.

Here is Weezy with Mary P. That is Larry's sister behind them.

Herkerma and Weezy with the Father.

The Father invited all the children to come up and participate. He was very sweet. He even rang the church bell for Weezy.

Owen tried to help take pictures, but really just wanted the camera bag.

Weezy with Herkerma and Larry and Larry's parents

Weezy with her grandparents/godparents.

After the christening, we all had lunch next door at the Tin Top (I totally recommend the Fried Green Tomatoes).

Then after a nap at Danielle's we went on to Weezy's house for Bear's 3rd birthday party. It was a combination Nemo and Cars party. Herkerma made red velvet shark cake and Nemo cookies. The kids swam and played on a blowup water slide.

It was a great day with my family.

Caught Them In the Act...

I can't remember where Ross and I went, but we went somewhere and left Jason home with Owen. When we got back in the middle of the afternoon, this is what we found.... Cute yes, but they didn't get any chores done!

Butch and Sundance Ride Again

The same week we went to Fairhope, Owen and I spent the night with our cousins, Danielle and Harris. Owen and Harris aka Butch and Sundance had a chance to make more plots for mischief and evil deeds. Owen made time to vacuum though, because he loves to vacuum and sweep. Let's hope that lasts! :)

Jaws.....

Owen and Ross spent a few days with their cousins, Buddy and Bear, in Fairhope. Unfortunately, they were all eaten by a shark that somehow managed to get on the back porch.

After this, Owen was very careful to keep an eye out for more sharks!

Owen loves Spaghetti

Okay, I know you have seen it before, but I just think Owen is so funny when he eats spaghetti. He loves it. He smears it all over his body. I suppose that is half the fun of it.
