A friend of mine says that she is not fond of blogs that are all hearts and flowers and happy children because they make her feel like a bad mother. Well, here is some truth for Liberty.
As I type this, I am listening to the sound of Owen dumping out all the toy bins in his room, again. Action figures and legos everywhere. Sigh... At least he is playing quietly for a while, in the closet, he loves to sit in the closet.
Owen and I just spent 5 minutes haggling over what to wear today. First we had an in depth discussion over the merits of Toy Story Underpants vs Monsters Inc Underpants. Toy Story finally won out but then when we picked out an outfit (gray shorts with gray t-shirt), the underpants were cast to the side as Owen decided commando was the way to go today.
He has also decided that he needs to pee standing up like a big boy, only one problem, his inconsistent aim. Another sigh...oh well, at least the floor gets mopped every day because Owen likes to pour water out of the bathtub and onto the floor.
Really that boy is something else.
See Liberty, no Molly's here.

Baby Will
I promised Grandma Dorothy I would post a bunch of pictures of our sweet Baby Will who was born in April.
Let's start at the beginning with Will in the hospital.

(Yes I know, he looks just like Owen...)

Here is one of Jason looking calm and cool because he is an old hand at this delivery business.

Ross meet your new brother!

I loved the fuzzy monkey suit, thanks Liberty!

Here is Will with his great-great grandmother in his Christmas outfit at 2 weeks old.

Will meet Papaw.

All my boys together.

Showing Will the classic humor of Shawn the Sheep.

Will went to visit his cousins. We discovered that he fits just right in a baby doll stroller and he loved it!

Ross knows the best thing about little brothers is snacks in church!

Jason and Will on his blessing day.

This is Will in April in his grasshopper suit, I love it!

Will is about 2 months here and all smiles!

Kickball Frenzy
Last night for Family Home Evening, we were invited to play kickball at the park with some other families. It was the most fun we have had in a long time and honestly, it was desperately needed!
Here are the teams:

And a bunch of action shots:

(I have a Facebook page too where I posted all the pictures I took from the kickball game.)

Jason's Unexpected Talent
Jason has surprised us all by taking up the almost lost art of making pies from scratch. He makes his own crust and when he can, even makes the filling from scratch. About the only thing he uses from a can is Cherry Pie Filling cause you can't get good cherries down her and canned pumpkin cause I still haven't learned how to cook a pumpkin yet.
I will try to find some older pictures of his pies. Here are two recent creations, peach and chocolate cream with meringue. Both were pretty good but his best by far is coconut cream, yummmmm!

Ancient Egyptian Day
Yesterday, Ross' PACE (aka Gifted) class showcased a year's worth of projects and study with Ancient Egyptian Day. Ross did a project on Mummies (see previous post). Of course on AED, Ross needed a mummy costume. It had to be something he could easily put on himself at school, look good and of course I wanted it to cheap and simple to make.
This is what I finally came up with: strips of unbleached cotton hot glued to a stained pair of school pants and a t-shirt with extra to wrap around his head and arms.

I intended to sew it but with Owen and Will around I just didn't have the time. I think this turned out pretty well.
Here are some more photos of my boys and Ancient Egyptian Day:

I hate pictures of me right now so there won't be another anytime soon.

Ross is so sweet with Owen.

They had food: fruit and hummus (yum).

Grapes please!

Owen loves watermelon too.

They played games.

And made art like bracelets...

Owen made a bracelet.

Some of their art work, very cool!

This is Ross' wonderful PACE teacher Mrs. Fox, we love her!

Some more of their projects, Ross' is on the far right.
Thank you Mrs. Fox and 5th grade PACE, we had a great time! (Oh, Will was there too, asleep in his stroller the whole time, yeah!)
