Family Movie Night at E.R. Dickson

Two Friday's ago, our family went to Family Movie Night at Ross' school. The PTA brings in a company that erects a huge out door movie screen on the field behind the school. Everyone brings their lawn chairs, blankets and picnic baskets and watches a movie. It is just about the most fun we have all year.

This year the movie was Ratatouille.

Because of threatening rain and high winds, we decided to move the movie into the gym. The PE teachers sold drinks, nachos, popcorn, and freeze pops to raise extra money. Ross loved the snacks, especially the freeze pops.

We have been every year and we love it! This year, we were wondering, what do we do with Owen. We knew he would never sit still, he would wander all over and harass people for their drinks and snacks.

A friend of mine let us borrow a portable baby yard, or "Owen Jail" as we like to call it. Mostly, we use it to keep Owen away from things, like the TV or the book shelves. But for Movie Night, we decided to keep Owen in.

So we set it up with blankets and toys and me.

Owen stayed in jail with me the whole movie and never cried once. Owen is very popular with the kids, so next thing I know, Owen and I are sharing our space with Ross, Hannah Parkes, Claire Travis, Dylan Parkes and another little girl who came with Claire.

Apparently we had the happening-est spot in town.

Here are more pictures from Movie Night.
