It feels like we have been running the road for days and days. Today I took the boys across the Bay to visit with more family. We started with a quick stop at Mamaw's house. Owen and Ross played outside while I helped Mamaw pull weeds until I stumbled upon a big black snake. Then Mamaw declared it was very much time to go inside. After a quick PB&J snack (thank you Mamaw) we hit the road again.
After a quick stop at the Target in Daphne for Lunchables and a pair of Bermuda shorts for me (I am so glad long shorts are finally back in style) we went to visit my sister Joan in Point Clear. Joan is in town with her 2 sons, Colin and Max, and beautiful new baby girl, Mia and of course Mary Poppins. Joan and Co. have a very nice comfy house with a big back porch that over looks the bay. It is a good place to sit and think. Unfortunately, between my boys and hers, you often cannot hear yourself think, but we still have fun!
Joan and all the boys pulled on their boots and went for a walk in the woods while I watched the sleeping babies, very smart of me. :)
Ross and Owen had a great time with Aunt Joantastic. She taught Ross to throw a cast net. We were grateful Ross did not cast himself into the Bay. Owen is happy any place he can chew on things, like fishing piers and chair legs.
After our visit with Joan, the boys and I went back up the Bay to see Neena, Jason's grandmother (aka Francis). Owen and I took Neena to dinner at Beef O'Brady's while Ross went to Mamaw's house to watch the special one hour sneak peek of Ben 10 Alien Force, because I turned off the cable a long time ago and Mamaw gets Cartoon Network. Ross was so excited because he is Ben 10's number one fan!
I had a nice visit with Neena, not a relaxing one because of Owen, but still a good time was had by all.
Now, after one last stop at Krispie Kreme, we are home at last. I am so ready for Ross to go back to school so I can get some rest. Only 6 more weeks to summer vacation. Eeeek!
