Ross, the Cub Scout

I have a lot about Owen in my blog, because Owen is such a nut, he provides a lot of material and pictures. So, I wanted to put some more about Ross.

Ross started Cub Scouts last year. He will move up from Wolf to Bear next month, we only have to finish 2 more achievements. He is also doing well with his Faith in God too.

Earlier this year Ross competed in the Pinewood Derby. Ross and Jason made his car. For weeks my kitchen was over run with wooden blocks, clamps, drills, saws, nails, paint, glue and sawdust. But, it was worth is because Ross and his Dad had so much fun together. Ross' car finished 5th out of 13. Not too bad.

Ross is holding the American Flag.

Okay, so we needed one of Owen with Ross' cubmaster Will.

Jason was the line judge, luckily the track is electronic so Jason didn't have to make any hard calls.

The track.

The competition.

Ross' car, the Red Winner.

You can't really see it, but this is Ross' car running in the 1st lane.

This is the locker Ross made out of a wood kit with a little help from his Dad and the air powered nail gun (I thought a nail gun was over kill but boys will be boys). It was a requirement for one of his Wolf achievements.

What a ham!

Lastly there are pictures from Pack meeting that show Ross getting 3 achievement beads. I am so proud of my sweet son!

Troop 22.

Me and Ross.

The boys and their parents played a game called Chair Bowling. In the end, the boys were beaten by Gloria, the other cub leader. Go Gloria!
