Smart and honest can be brutal...

The past few days have been very average, nothing exciting going on which I suppose is a good thing. Ross has gone to school, done his homework and played with his best buds down the street, Brandon and Cameron.

Jason has gone to work and come home safely, which is always a blessing. Jason and I both have our HAM radio licenses. He is KI4IHD, I am KI4ORP. We often talk on the radio while he drives back and forth to work since he has a 60 mile round trip. Funny, Jason hates to talk on the phone, but will chat up a storm on the radio. He is a man, a very techy man.

Owen and I have stayed home mostly. He takes a nap, I do laundry and work on dinner. We put together puzzles and hunt for Noah's animals. I tell Owen "no" and he ignores me. Right now he is rocking his rocking chair with great vigor. Now he is dragging a towel around is room and hoping someone will play peekaboo with him. "Peapie" says me, big smile says Owen lowering the towel. Now we start over. And Owen laughs under his towel.

Yesterday, Owen and I went to Ross' school to hear our friend Ariel play in a violin concert.

This is Ariel.

Ariel is probably the smartest girl I have ever known, she is very smart and very honest. Ross loves to play with Ariel because she likes all the same things he likes, cartoons, computer games and video games. She has a World of Warcraft account like Ross, because her Daddy plays WoW with Jason. She has a DS and is the master of Super Smashbrother's Meelee.

Ross and Ariel are both on Student Council. I picked them up after their meeting yesterday and brought Ariel to our house to play. Thank you Andrea. Ross and Owen both had a great time with Ariel. Owen loves, loves Ariel and she loves him too. She said all the fourth grade girls are envious because she gets to go to Owen's house.

After visiting fourth grade P.E., Owen is the darling of the fourth grade little girls. Ross says Owen is a girl magnet, this is true, just like his Daddy.

Owen's seat is in the back of the Jeep, which is very fun, but only has 2 doors, so I have to climb inside to strap Owen in his seat.

While I was doing this the conversation went something like this:

Ariel says "Miss Ann, that is so funny, when you got in the Jeep the whole car swayed toward us and the tires went way down."

"Are you telling me I'm fat Ariel?" says me, teasing her some.

"Oh no", says Ariel "you're not fat, I didn't mean to offend you."

"I know you didn't mean I'm fat" says I.

"It's just funny because the same thing used to happen when my Mom got in our car." say Ariel.

"I doubt that", says I, "your Mom is very thin."

"Oh, no,she has really gained some weight, you should see her." says Ariel.

Now Ariel's mother is probably a size 4 on the outside. She is very thin and very beautiful.

I had a very good laugh to myself on the ride home while Ariel tried to teach Owen to say "Goombee" because Ariel feels this word is very popular with babies. She said she tested it on her sister Cecily when Cecily was a baby. Keep in mind Cecily is only 3 years younger than Ariel so, Ariel would have been 4 at time.

Like I said, smart and honest can be brutal but very very funny too. We love Ariel and are very grateful to have her in our lives!

That's my Ariel for ya! But I have to say, on my part, she is right, I have been gaining weight, trust me, the scales don't lie! Thanks for having Ariel over, she had a blast.

Oh yeah, thanks for the compliment Ann, but I am far from a size 4!
